Overview

What are you in for

Join the finest opera singers and ring in the New Year with an unforgettable concert at the Sydney Opera House. The singers will jump, yell, trill, whisper in operatic glory while performing some of the famous arias from Verdi, Puccini and Rossini.

Clap with abandon and stamp your feet too – a fun tradition particularly when the singers perform a popular aria. When there is a gap in the music, don’t be surprised if someone starts clapping and the audience follows – it is a common ritual during such concerts!

We’ve done all the planning for you, so you can relax and enjoy the memories you’re making.

Pick your seats!

Premium Reserve seats are the best in the house, located in the middle of the theater.

A-Reserve seats surround the Premium Reserve seats. You will be viewing the stage at a slight angle.

B-Reserve seats surround the A-Reserve seats. You will be viewing the stage at a slight angle.

C-Reserve seats are at the rear, sides and behind the orchestra of the Concert Hall

So there’s no last-minute rush please arrive at the start point 15 minutes early. The ushers will close the doors at show time and may not allow latecomers in until a suitable gap in the performance.

Check your phone and other electronic devices, and anything else that might go beep or ring or buzz: make sure they are all off. A glowing screen can also be distracting to those around you so don't check your phone during the performance.

Photography, sound recording or any kind of filming is not permitted during the performance but you're welcome to take photos before and after the performance and at interval.

It’s a lot of fun to put on your glamorous best for a night at the opera, but casual dress is perfectly acceptable. There’s no compulsory dress code – wear what you’ll feel comfortable in. It can get cold in the theater, so consider an extra layer.

We want everyone to be a part of this magical experience. If you have any special seating requirements, drop a mail to our local operator at customerservice@opera.org.au and they will ensure to help you plan the best way they could.
