Please reach Visitor Information Desk in the main entrance plaza at Taronga Zoo, Bradley's Head Road, Mosman, Sydney.
Taronga Zoo is approximately 15 minutes by ferry from Circular Quay (please check ferry times from Circular Quay). A STA bus meets each ferry, the first stop being the Zoo's Top Entrance. When coming to Roar & Snore it will not be possible to enter via the Lower Entrance.
Tour ends at Harbour view Café. You can explore the zoo further.
Begin this 2-hour unique wildlife tour by assembling at the Visitor Information Desk in the main entrance plaza at Taronga Zoo. Nura Diya means ‘country or camp’, and so this tour offers you an understanding of wildlife from an indigenous perspective.
To start with, enjoy a sky safari cable car ride to enjoy aerial views of the spectacular zoo and capture pictures of the Sydney skyline. This thrilling ride is in a fully enclosed cabin that glides over all animal enclosures on the hill that overlooks Sydney Harbour. Next, led by an aboriginal guide, walk through the zoo while gaining special insight on the many rich and diverse aboriginal cultures of Australia. Learn how these cultures use natural recourses for shelter, medicine, food and art in their own different and unique ways. Step back in time as you enjoy stories of the Dreaming – a time of creation, when all the living creatures and landscapes were formed. Listen to your guide further as he informs you about the relationship amongst people, plants and animals and their contribution to the land.
This tour ends at Harbourview Café, where you get to enjoy morning tea. Feel free to explore the zoo further with a full-day admission ticket or make your way back to your city accommodation.
